Gemma was, of course, somewhat right in that one would assume their parents might want company that wasn't each other, but then their parents had also always been people who liked their own company. Higgs had always assumed they just happened to prefer each other to their kids, which wasn't really an issue since they clearly loved both him and Gemma dearly. They just happened to love each other more. "I'll keep that in mind," he said with a smile at her offer to stay at her house. "Might go stay with nan for a bit, too, god knows I could use all the excessive amounts of tea she'll ply me with," he added jokingly.
The problem was that Higgs couldn't actually claim he was doing okay, but he didn't think he was doing badly per se. It probably wasn't shocking that going through a divorce wasn't easy, not that Higgs was actually going through a divorce right now. He was yet to even contact a lawyer. But with everything else still being a mess in his head it was a slow progress. Gemma's dreams, nice other otherwise were definitely more exciting. "I do, in fact, consider that to be much more exciting. Tell me all about it," Higgs encouraged his sister, leaning back into his chair.
