Lisa flushed slightly as he smiled at her, taking her books when he handed them out to her. "I'm glad you liked my story," she told him, returning the smile. "I certainly hope he hasn't lost his dog. That's a fate nobody deserves, even people who stay late at the library."
She held her books against her chest and offered him a little wave. "Thank you. I'll make sure to bring them back on time. Maybe I'll see you again when I check out more." She turned then and hurried out of the library, allowing him to close up and hopefully hurry the lone patron out. She hoped he got to leave on time.
