Hermione didn't actually think that her pancakes would affect his diet all that much. Then again, they did have sugar in them. Maybe she could do what she did with Harry, and contact Arran's dietitian to check what he was allowed to have. There were plenty of healthy pancake recipes, Hermione was sure. Obviously, the chocolate spread would have to go, but right now it seemed like Arran could use chocolate spread. Particular crises called for particular things. And chocolate spread featured heavily in a lot of them.
"There's plenty of things I don't know about," Hermione said honestly. There really were. In fact, she doubted she knew a lot about film, just enough to keep up a conversation. There were many things Hermione knew enough about to keep up a conversation. "Knowing many things doesn't necessarily qualify me to be a Ravenclaw, I don't think," she added thoughtfully. Hermione was well aware that her thirst for knowledge was more a Ravenclaw trait than a Gryffindor one, but she certainly also thought there was plenty of Gryffindor about her. "Technical achievements happen in order to provide ease of living and entertainment," she commented with a small shrug. "And competition," Hermione added with a small smirk. "Which I'm sure you know all about," she teased. Hermione hadn't know Arran for very long, but she felt that one didn't have to in order to learn that Arran liked competing. Usually, it seemed, and somewhat puzzlingly, about the most ridiculous things.
The smile Arran offered her as he told Hermione that she had distracted him, made Hermione smile back automatically. "I am sort of brilliant," she confirmed with a nod. Hermione was well aware that there were plenty of things she excelled at. Other people's crises were definitely towards the top of that list. "So do you want to talk about whatever upset you now? Or we can carry on talking about Muggle technology if you'd prefer?"
