"Please report back with your findings. I except all the details coming Monday morning," she joked as she nudged him with her elbow. Anything right now to keep Roger laughing then going into some depressed funk over the loss of his friendship.
Lydia took another shot as she listened to him talk about his job and made an impressed noise. For him not to completely hate it was a big deal where Roger was concerned. Lydia needed a job that she loved and was dedicated but she was aware her friend wasn't the same and she had to remind herself of that a lot. At first Lydia had to admit she was jealous of Roger. He had an inside connection and was getting all these amazing jobs and he didn't appear grateful when she would kill for a job with that prestige and money. Then she realized something. She would be so much happier if she actually worked for those jobs, so when she did get there she would appreciate it all the more. The jealousy soon faded.
When he asked about her job, she nodded and went to pour herself another shot. "I haven't been on it long obviously but yes everything is great so far. I get to meet with some more higher ups and see more behind-the scenes stuff that I wasn't aware of before. I'm very excited for the opportunity." Looking over at him she gave a small smile, "I really appreciate you offering to write that letter for me."
