"Well, I don't think I'll end up in the gossip pages for my knitting skills any time soon," she added. Truthfully Mary-Anne hoped she never actually ended up in those pages though; it'd be too much like being talked about when you're still in the room but not part of the conversation, and it'd be kind of embarrassing. Besides she didn't think she was at all exciting enough to be gossiped about anyway. "Yeah, that's true."
It certainly wasn't Cedric's fault at all, especially with him being so nice about everything; which just made Mary-Anne feel worse about getting slightly upset talking about her time at a Muggle primary school. "I'm f-fine... it's okay," she said quietly, before trying to take a deep breath. Her hands laid in her lap trying not to let them fidget nervously as she tried to explain. So focused that she was hardly of a mind to be wary or nervous that Cedric was now sitting rather close to her. "It's just... I started talking about the school because... it's why I stayed with Aunt Molly a lot, during the days. Then I s-started getting upset because it reminded me of how b-bad it was at the school... and you're not supposed to get upset on dates. Not that I've been on dates before... and you're being so nice and I'm just being... weird..."
Unfortunately, her explanation was a bit broken and ran on but hopefully Cedric had understood most of what she was saying. It's just that whenever she started to feel upset or worked up about something and had to explain or say what was wrong, it all just wanted to come out at once because then at least it would be over and done with.
