"I was thinking the same thing," Cedric admitted, settling himself against the seat and watching as the carriage started to move away from the theatre. He hadn't spent much time in Edinburgh, so he was mildly curious to see what they passed, but it seemed to be mostly muggle cars and shops. It wasn't exactly scenic. Besides which, the noise from the traffic swelled on either side, coming through the open sides of their vehicle. After a quick glance to make sure no one was looking, Cedric pulled his wand from his pocket and cast a quick charm to deaden the noise, giving the a more peaceful environment in which to talk. "I'm glad they added the carriage ride," he said. "Otherwise it would just be a quick hello and then a quick goodbye at the end, unless we went for drinks." It didn't seem a lot of time to get to know someone.
Cedric pocketed his wand again, shifting to make himself more comfortable in his suit. "Have you been on one of Lockhart's dates before?" he asked. "Last time, he matched me up with one of my trainees at work. We did get to go kayaking on the canal, though, that was fun." More fun than the opera had been, or at least better suited to Cedric's taste.
