"Oh please, you've always had someone to bring, and while I love Oliver to death I may have to hit him over the head for him to think of inviting me," she joked. She hadn't meant to make him feel bad about not ever taking her to the gala, it wasn't something that ever had bothered her. Lydia always enjoyed hearing the stories and most importantly wanted her friends to have a good time. That was what mattered most. She didn't bother saying that she usually didn't have much planned for her birthdays since she figured that would make him feel worse, instead choosing to focus on his sister, "Yes I heard that! That's so exciting for her. Your family must be so proud!" Because well why wouldn't they?
Lydia wasn't sure which event Arran was asking her if she had been to? He had listed quite a few in that moment and it made her laugh, "No I haven't really. I don't think I've ever been to any real sporting event besides the Quidditch games back in school and the ones of your brother's I have been to." Was that weird of her? She hadn't thought so until Arran had mentioned going to see all these events with his new friend. Clearly it was a lot of fun if he was talking about taking his family to them. "Are they very exciting?"
Covering her mouth to stop her laugh from distracting everyone else in the caves she looked over at Arran. Well at least he was very honest. "Sorry I forget not everyone spends their life in an office and has to deal with the things that I do," she replied. "Thank you though, I'm really happy. I'm excited to progress further in my career ambitions." Lydia looked around at the caves and let out a happy sigh, "Can you believe there are things like this out in the world?
