There was a strange need within Hermione to check up on Ron. She disliked it. This odd feeling of wanting to make sure that Ron was okay seemed to constantly be with her. Hermione didn't understand it. She realised it was something that came with the memories-slash-feelings of the alternative universe. That did not make her necessarily understand it any more. Her and Ron Weasley had never been friends. Sure, they had been in the same year, same house. He had shared a dorm with her actual friends. And yet, since the memory thing Hermione felt like she knew Ron. Which was rather irksome because she didn't actually. Even if Hermione did know Ron, it wasn't the Ron in this universe. Which just made the whole thing more confusing and annoying.
She couldn't help wanting to see him, though. But Hermione was hardly going to admit that. So instead, she made food for Harry. Harry, who thank gods, could be relied upon to be an utter mess and a good excuse. Apparating just outside the flat on Monday morning before work, Hermione let herself in. She didn't even bother to check whether Harry was in. Her excuse didn't really require him to be present. Putting the bag of food in the fridge, Hermione stuck the kettle on, in no way waiting for Ron to emerge from his room.
Five minutes later when he did, Hermione was stood in the kitchen with a mug of coffee in hand. "Oh, hi, Ron," she greeted like she was meant to be there. "I came over to bring Harry some food," she told the red haired man. "But it's good you're here," Hermione added like she hadn't expected him to be. "I wanted to talk to you," at least that bit was definitely true.
