Olivia had been on a delivery to the Ministry and had chosen to take the elevator. She never really cared for elevators, not liking the feeling of being in a tiny little box for very long, but it was just a quick trip up to the office she was making the delivery to and thought that it would be quicker. She hadn't counted on the mysterious green fog that started to fill the ministry nor had she known that the lift would be halted effectively trapping herself and one Gideon Prewett inside the elevator in question. Her stomach lurched as the elevator stopped mid-trip. Swallowing, she looked over at her companion, more than a little startled by the sudden and unexpected interruption to her morning.

"Why have we stopped?," she asked, as if the man would somehow miraculously have an answer for her.

Gideon had been heading back from visiting Arthur in his department. He hadn't noticed the mysterious green fog. He had just stepped into the elevator that had housed the younger woman and he had been rather surprised when the lift had stopped. This didn't make any sense to him.

"Don't know," He admitted trying to hide any concern. The ministry lifts did not just stop on a whim. He pressed the alarm button to try and get anyone's attention but that didn't seem to do anything.

Olivia could deal with an elevator when it was moving, but when it suddenly stopped with no real explanation and no mention of when it might start up again, she liked them much less. The feeling of being trapped was not one that she liked. Not one little bit. The fact that the man with her didn't seem to know what was going on either didn't make her feel any less concerned.

She watched as he pressed the alarm button. That was good. Maybe someone would hear it and get the lift working. Soon, hopefully. Only no one seemed to notice. The more minutes that passed, the more concerned Olivia became. "Do you work here?," she questioned the man, trying desperately to think of something other than the fact that they were stuck.

	Gideon studied the woman for a moment. Older than his son he thought to himself but he wasn't going to guess. "Yes," He said with a calming smile, he wasn't sure but if she didn't like closed spaces... "I work in the DMLE" He said keeping the smile, "what about you?" He asked. He then remembered. His smile was one that remained calm enough to at least ease her mind slightly. If he was calm, she could be calm, right? Or at least she could try. Olivia did just that, trying to push down the tightness that she felt in her throat as she listened to the man speak.

He worked there. Well, that was information she could tuck away that probably meant nothing in the grand scheme of things. Just because he worked there didn't mean he knew how to fix a stuck elevator. "No," she told him, shaking her head. "I work at Slug & Jiggers Apothecary," she explained. "I was only making a delivery." Now she was starting to think that perhaps she shouldn't make deliveries anymore. Strange things kept happening when she made deliveries.

His introduction got a little smile from her, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. "Olivia Diggory," she replied. "It's lovely to meet you, though I wish the circumstances were different. Not the best with small spaces," she admitted, letting out a little breath.

	"Diggory?" The name rang a bell with Gideon, "are you one of Amos'?" He asked once he finally had put a name to the face he had associated with. He'd come across Amos Diggory a couple of times. After she admitted she wasn't the best with small spaces Gideon thought quickly. "Why don't you tell me about your family?" He asked hoping to distract Olivia (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Olivia nodded. It wasn't uncommon for people to know of her family the moment she mentioned her name. "Yes, he's my father."

The question about her family wasn't really expected, but it did have the effect that Gideon was going for and distracted her. "I'm the middle child," she explained. "Cedric is my elder brother and Haley my younger sister. You've met my father?," she asked. She might as well keep the conversation going. It was helpful enough to keep her mind off of the halted lift.

	He gave a genuine smile, "Yes, he and my bother in law Arthur Weasley are good friends, I've also come across him in the ministry" He admitted. "Also I think I tried to recruit Cedric for the Auror Department when he finished Hogwarts" "What does he do now?" He inquired. He was glad the distraction technique seemed to be working and so he tried to keep it going. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

That made more sense and Olivia nodded, smiling. "Ah, Arthur Weasley, yes." Arthur was a lovely man. Cedric and the Weasley boys were fairly good friends as well. "Cedric is a curse-breaker now," she told him. "He's really very good. Could do anything he sets his mind to really." She couldn't help but smile at the thought of her brother. He really was a great man who was capable of so many things.
