"Am I to assume I'll have a room should I ever need one for a night?" she inquired. They certainly had enough, and Ashleigh wasn't sure what they were planning to do with them all. Though she had never needed one, it might some day come in handy to have somewhere to stay if anything happened to her flat. There was always the bedroom she'd shared with her siblings in her mother's house, but Ashleigh didn't like depending on their mum. (She didn't like depending on anyone, but Higgs was somehow less distressing.)
She smiled at Higgs' threat. Between Aisling, Asher and Terence, Ashleigh certainly didn't envy Axel if he ever did hurt her. Though it was hard to imagine a situation in which he would wrong her so badly she would actually allow them to carry out their various threats. If he hurt she, she thought it more likely to be accidental. Though, obviously, it was impossible to predict the future. And if she hurt him? Would Aisling hold her accountable? (Ashleigh thought she probably would.) She shook herself free of those thoughts, in an effort to avoid dooming their relationship prematurely. "I still don't feel hungry," she admitted as they neared the kitchen once more. "But I should try, at least."
