Ashleigh's eyebrows lifted at that. She didn't know why she'd assumed Terence and Alicia would have been married in that other timeline, she certainly didn't believe in 'meant to be' or anything like that. She wondered what Alicia was like, without Higgs. "I haven't had any clues as to what my life was like," she said. Which seemed almost unfair. If she was going to gripped with panic in the middle of the night (assuming that was even related), she'd have liked some information as to what choices she'd made, how her life was different. Her eyes widened when he mentioned George and she was silent for a long moment before she spoke. "I suppose it shows you and George have similar taste," she said dryly. She hoped Higgs wouldn't take it the wrong way, but it did seem amusing.
"More than me," she answered, which was hardly a high bar. She hadn't, she realised, told Axel she was planning on going on holiday with Aisling. Quite possibly Aisling had mentioned it, but even if she hadn't Ashleigh really didn't expect it to be a problem. She shrugged slightly. "I don't think it's a problem now," she said. As Higgs had pointed out, would Axel still be with her if it was? No. She worried more about the future, about him tiring of her personality, her lack of the things she assumed he appreciated. She should probably talk to him, of course. "We're very different people," she said. "And I don't have enough experience to know if that can work."
