"It is if you're judge on the merit of its choices for the rest of your life," Hermione replied with a small shrug. She did rather think that it wasn't a failing of one thing in particular, perhaps just an unfortunate side effect. But unless they were going to find a way to have the Hat re-sort people and actually have statistical evidence that people changed over the years, the argument was rather redundant. Besides, that also worked on the presumption that people would be re-sorted in other houses. It was just as likely that the labels were fitting.
Taking the notepad from Bethanie, Hermione produced rather careful instructions on how to mimic the spells she had cast. "This should work," she told the other woman handing the paper and pen back. "But if it doesn't, don't hesitate to let me know," Hermione added offering Bethanie a smile. "I'm quite happy to help," she assured her, since it was true. Feeling useful was always nice. "Thank you for the tea," Hermione added more out of politeness than anything else, though the tea had been nice.
