Week Twelve
Canada and England:
One of the surprising match ups of the Cup - England (380) and Canada (200) faced off on the Pitch. For awhile it looked like Canada would be pulling off an upset victory over a heavy favorite in England to get to the Semi-Finals. The Snitch was highly illusive in this match - much to the annoyance of the Canadian Seeker. This illusiveness played into England’s need to find their rhythm. Once they got into a rhythm - the English players began to come to life. Bell, Higgs and Spinnet made an unstoppable trio and are looking good heading into Semi-finals.
Semi-Finals this year are going to be some of the most exciting finals we have seen in the last few years. It’s been awhile since so many regional teams have made it this far. Bulgaria being the one team from outside. However, for the first time since Krum took over as Seeker - their future is shaky has rumors are flying that the fan favorite is still dealing with issues from the injury sustained in the last game. If this is true Wales could do the unthinkable and end Viktor Krum’s post season winning streak.
England will be face up with Ireland - teammates from the BIL facing off in one of the most intense rivalariy games we are hoping to see. With the trio of Bell, Higgs and Spinnet finally firing on all cylinders - Ireland may have it’s hands full. And with Flint showing up to practice with the knee still wrapped - we have to wonder if the Big Bad Irish Wolf will be at his fighting strength - even with the help of Moran - when it comes to trying to topple the English Lion when it roars into the Pitch.
Next Week: The semifinals will kick off with Wales and Bulgaria!
