Gilderoy // Aisling
"I've met a few Gilderoys, actually," Aisling replied both because she had and because the idea of intentionally undermining Gilderoy's point appealed to her. Aisling might not have been someone who would ever expressively be rude to anyone, but she also had a lot of experience with men like Gilderoy (white men in a (self-)perceived position of power, that is), and there was a simple way to deal with that. Agree without agreeing. It was one of the games that Aisling often played at the functions her mother insisted she attends. As far as games went, Aisling thought it was rather enjoyable.
Being told that her topic of conversation was bad manners made Aisling raise an eyebrow at Gilderoy. "My apologies, I feel that perhaps I am used to social gatherings of the type of people who enjoy discussion of their businesses as it tends to solidify and expand it," Aisling offered not quite as an apology. "I guess, however, that one's social class might be indicative of whether a conversation regarding business is acceptable, as these," and here she did a little wave with her hand. "Kind of events may not gather the crème de la crème of business minded people," Aisling added, before concluding with a rather pointed 'evidently' and taking a sip of her wine.
"It's been a rather enjoyable evening, thank you," she said putting the glass back down. "Have you enjoyed yours or has it been a disappointing occasion due to your solar system purchases?"
