Daphne saw no reason not to be calm about hanging out with Eddie. Pansy was one of her best friends and she cared for Eddie and that meant he'd be around in their circle for the foreseeable future. She was willing to give him the chance at being her friend, not just Pansy's boyfriend. It seemed like the logical thing to do, after all.
His mention of what needed to be avoided got a little laugh from her. "Not a fan of your family?," she asked. "Sounds like me with my parents." She loved them, of course, but it was hard not to feel like a disappointment most of the time when she was in their presence.
