Charlie had been in the stands to watch the game; he'd been sick with nerves, watching Oliver play. He wasn't thinking about the fact that he might have to choose between cheering on his boyfriend and cheering on his national team, if England and Scotland both won their matches. Right now all he was focused on was Oliver.
When the game ended he pushed his way through the crowd to try and get down to the player's entrance. He knew he probably wouldn't get in but he wanted to be there for Oliver as soon as he came out. Only....he didn't. As minutes passed, Charlie started chewing on his lip. He'd seen just about every other member of the team. But no Oliver.
Spotting Arran, Charlie sagged a little in relief. A short conversation was enough to determine that Oliver was (as expected) blaming himself, not at the grounds anymore...and hiding from everyone. Thank Helga for Oliver's inability to lie to his brother - stopping back at the Reserve long enough to feed Fizz and grab a bag, Charlie apparated to as near as he could get to the muggle hotel Oliver was hiding in. Charming the room number out of the girl at the front desk was surprisingly easy; shouldering his bag, Charlie took the stairs 2 at a time rather than wait for the lift. A little flushed and out of breath, he pounded on the door with the side of his fist, praying that Oliver would answer.
