It had been over a month since Gilderoy had taken the young artist's card at his book signing. He'd intended to visit her earlier, but with one thing and another he'd been a very busy man! The new title had, as it always did, brought a temporary increase in his fan mail, which he insisted on answering by hand. Then there had been the gala, and the match-making, and perhaps he might have misplaced the business card just for a few days. When he'd found it again (by accident, under a horoscope compatibility chart), he'd had his team set up the appointment as soon as possible. He had no pressing need for a portrait, but it would make a glorious present for his mother.
Looking around Jun's studio, Gilderoy wondered if perhaps he had made a mistake. He had expected something... more grand. Perhaps the Knockturn Alley address should have tipped him off. "Perhaps outside?" he suggested, because he did not want his portrait to feature the backdrop that the studio walls seemed to afford. "Or at a writing desk!" Yes, that would do quite nicely, and Gilderoy could show off one of his collection of fine quills. Besides, where more natural for an author than to be pictured behind a writing desk, ready to narrate an adventure from his life? He beamed at her suggestion of a throne - how charmingly flattering - but didn't think it quite the thing.
