Harry and Neville had been friends for a long time. Since they were kids. And in that time, they'd had a great many adventures, and gotten into a spot of trouble here and there. But only a spot! Because they were good kids. They didn't try and get into trouble. It just happened, honest! Luckily, it hadn't happened too much at school, and Harry was pretty sure it was all because his mum worked there--there was no hiding anything from her. Sometimes though, the boys made the trouble for themselves. Or, well, Harry was the one making it. But he had good intentions! All he wanted was for his best mate to get a girlfriend. Harry had one, and it was great. There was hand-holding and snogging and nothing else because Lily Potter had made sure that her son knew the consequences of his actions and he so wasn't prepared for those, thank you very much. And besides, this girlfriend wasn't even the one, he knew that much. She was cute and funny, sure, but he also knew that, realistically, there wasn't much chance of things going anywhere. Neville though, he'd never had that, and Harry thought that was sad. The other boy was okay-looking, a good mate, and a very decent guy. He shouldn't have had any trouble finding a girl. So Harry was going to do something about that. He had his own newly-gotten information about girls from his father and uncle, so clearly he was in the perfect position to teach him. The morning of one of their Hogsmeade weekends, Harry told Neville over breakfast that he needed him to meet him at 11am sharp, and to make sure he was on time, because he had some things he wanted to talk to him about. Summer things or something, he didn't quite remember. It wasn't really important. The point was that he'd maybe set his friend up on a date and he needed to coach him on it before he sent Neville in to make a fool of himself. |
