"No, I suppose it's not necessary," Evan agreed, because Lily was right. He had suggested to James that they could have their vows renewed, but that had only been because James had said he would marry Lily if he wasn't already married to her. As fun as parties were, Evan wasn't too sure they were ever necessary. "But think of all the presents, mum," he carried on. "I mean, maybe it's worth divorcing and remarrying? Wouldn't people give you things?" Evan had not been to a wedding before, but he was pretty sure that presents were involved.
Leaning back into the sofa, now that they were done discussing the blueprints, Evan made himself more comfortable. "Prim and I discussed whether you and dad need to be given a safe sex talk," he told Lily, tilting his head slightly to look at her. "Is this something you're in a need of? I have books with diagrams," he informed her sounding serious, though there was not much seriousness intended. Well, unless she did want to see books with sex diagrams, in which case Evan had recommendations.
