It had been rather confusing waking up in the hospital at first. Everything felt rather fuzzy and strange just after Evan woke up and then he was being hugged by his mum and his dad and Daisy briefly clung onto him so hard Evan wonder if he had a cracked rib, but then the memories started coming back and Evan almost had preferred the fuzzy confusion. Evan really had no idea what to make of what had happened. Logically, he knew that Harry couldn't have possibly meant the things he had said and done, because it just made no sense. That didn't, however, stop the ball of uncomfortable something settling low in Evan's stomach. He knew it couldn't possibly be his fault. Evan and Harry might not have been the best of friends, or friends at all, but Evan knew that Harry wasn't... bad. He might not like Evan but this was--well. Evan didn't know what and reasoning it in his head wasn't really helping much at all.
He hadn't told his mum and dad what had happened. Said he couldn't remember. Daisy had mostly given him looks that implied that she didn't believe him, or perhaps was attempting to read his mind, Evan couldn't quite tell. Either way, Evan didn't want to tell them, didn't want them to be angry at Harry, not when Evan didn't know why his brother had attacked him. It was easier to just say he didn't remember. The Healer had come in, first suggesting the family vacate the room and then pushily telling them to do so. Evan had almost appreciated that, because the attention was difficult to deal with. Evan hated being the centre of attention at the best of times, but being literally in a hospital bed surrounded by it wasn't making him feel any more comfortable.
"So you don't remember what happened?" The Healer asked as she did some sort of diagnostic with her wand.
"Is it important that I do?" Evan asked suspiciously. He was hardly going to keep the information from the Healer if she thought it would impact his recovery, but then she shook her head and told him that they could identify the hexes used on him and it was mostly that perhaps he should have his head checked, too, if there was memory loss. But she also assured him that memory loss in a scenario of a traumatic event was perfectly normal, so Evan opted for not pointing out that whilst he did find it pretty fucking traumatic he also vividly remembered all of it. There was no need, since all she would do is probably report Harry to the Aurors or something. Not that Evan thought James would arrest Harry, but it wasn't a risk Evan wanted to take.
Once she had finished, the Healer told Evan that they'd keep him over night but after some more checks tomorrow he'd probably be okay to go home and finish his course of healing potions in somewhere that wasn't a ridiculously busy hospital. That was good, since Evan didn't exactly fancy staying in St Mungo's any longer than he absolutely had to (and probably less if it had been up to him).
There was barely any time at all after the Healer left and the door opened again and Evan was about ready to give a dramatic sigh and ask him mum or Daisy or dad to just go home, but it wasn't any of them. It was Andrew and Evan's face broke into a smile, an absolute relief washing over him. "Andrew," he exhaled happily. Not that Evan didn't want his family here, but they fussed and it made him feel bad. Andrew, though, Evan desperately wanted to clung onto and be told that everything was fine and Andrew, Evan also could tell what had happened.
