Bethanie / Laurel
"Yeah, I'd like that!" She said brightly at the suggestion of an owl conversation. She'd enjoyed her brief talk with Bethanie, it was nice to have someone to go on a bit about writing with. Not many people in her life shared the passion she had for it, so she didn't spend much time discussing it, which was a shame.
It was true, though, that Laurel wanted to take some extra time to get to the table, because she really just did not want to face whomever the stupid magic thing had decided would be her soulmate or whatever. Ugh. This whole thing was stupid.
She arrived at the table after most folks had already settled and she paused. A girl on one side and... She laughed out loud and then quickly covered her mouth when she saw who was sitting in the other spot. This wasn't actually a good thing, not if she wanted to keep her cover, but she definitely would prefer to sit with Bethanie over pretty much anyone else in this whole place. (Okay, the girl with the purple evening gown had been cute but unlikely to be interested.)
Still, she hesitated, making sure no one was watching as she took a seat, flushing a bit. "Hi, again."
