"That's all you really can do I'm afraid then. I'm sure Alicia understands, you are her husband after all and she should find your thoughts reasonable." If for some reason Alicia didn't think Higgs had a valid point, well then Lydia was certain she was crazy and would happily walk over to her net door neighbor's and tell her so, for all of their sakes. Higgs and Alicia needed to fix their marriage and throwing George into the picture while it was still on weak foundation wouldn't do any good for them. But then again, is what Lydia and George did right?
Somehow though, Lydia had hope. Hope that eventually, this would all work itself out in someway or another. She preferred if it meant she wouldn't lose either George or Higgs in her life, but maybe that was her being selfish. Was it fair that she got to spend time with Higgs like this when they weren't allowing the other to interact? "It is an unfortunate situation to be sure, but we can't change it. We just have to figure out a way to get through it." Pointing to his glass she looked at him, "Do you want another?"
