Lydia instinctively gave his hand a squeeze back. It was a simple gesture but there was so much reassurance in it. At his comments thought she shook her head, "No don't feel that way. If fact I feel I'm probably the best person you should have talked to. I'm in this situation with you, I'm hearing it from all sides. Trust me I appreciate having you to talk with as well through this. While it is nice to talk to George, there's some thoughts I would feel better not saying to him." Giving him a soft smile she added, "We are friends, friends talk about their problems with each other. Frankly I would be a little hurt if you didn't feel comfortable enough to bug me with your issues," she said with a wink.
Finishing off her beer she sighed, "I know you aren't accusing George of that and I get what you are saying. But like you said it could unintentionally happen. Who knows what would happen if they started hanging out again. They might not see it as anything but to us it might."
"I can clearly tell you don't want to be a controlling person and that is very admirable, Higgs, really it is. But I feel in this one instance you have a valid point. It'll all depend on how you approach the topic with her. Don't say 'I don't want you to see George,' say something along the lines of 'I'm not comfortable yet with you having a relationship with George.' Let her know that it just isn't something you are comfortable with. Sure it might make her sad but if she really cares about you she will respect you and appreciate you sharing it."
