Xavier offered her a slight smile in return for her gestures to console him. The whole debacle didn't bother him as much as it used to, but that was because it felt so far in the past. Other than when it got brought up by the press - which he tried not to read, but sometimes it couldn't be avoided. At least some people, like BrĂana, weren't so easily convinced by what had been written in the papers.
"It was self-defense," he replied, and he actually took one of the cookies when they were offered again. "Not really, thankfully. I think they got bored with it, moved on. It's still there in how people write about the band - well, me. Can't do anything about that." He took a bite of the cookie and a flicker of a smile crossed his features. "My mom made these, by the way. She sent me a bunch, so I have more at home."
