Xavier watched the stool come over his way, sliding it into place once it landed and leaning back to sit on the edge of it. He smiled a little more at her grin, setting his tea on the counter and watching her take out one of the cookies, and then turned the box back to her without taking one.
"You made me smile," he said with a slight shrug, rubbing his jaw a bit before dropping his hand to his lap. "Cookies seemed like the right thing."
