Drabble: Silent Resurrection (Willow, Spike) FRC/G
Happy Birthday, lilbreck! Here's your drabble. It has Spike, Willow, and uncomfortable silence, just as you requested. Unfortunately, it refused to be shippy (unless you squint really hard). I do hope you like it anyway. It was written with lots of love and gratitude.

Silent Resurrection
Spike hangs on the verge of replying to her plea for forgiveness, but he refrains. The powerful, confident witch who saved the world in the alley tonight isn’t Willow, not the Willow he knows and, while he believes her when she says that she didn’t know about Fred, he thinks the least she owes him is a glimpse of his old Red again. So he watches, fascinated, as silence strips away the self-assured veneer, as hands come up to lips as if she itches to bite her nails but has just enough resistance left to bring her hands down to her lap again each time; as each moment without words makes those same hands clutch at each other, makes her too uncomfortable to look at him - instead her eyes go here, there and everywhere. The quiet has given him back his Willow. It’s enough. So at last he speaks.
