The words sliced into her and she felt her cheeks flushing in anger. Her eyes stung with tears for the briefest of moments before she regained her control over that particular reflex. Before she could even think twice about what she was doing, her wand was drawn and held at his neck. Her breathing was heavy and ragged and her icy blue eyes held a flicker of a flame just behind him.
"My mother was taken from me. I didn't run her off. And at least I bloody well recognize when my entire fecking family is out of their bleeding minds. At least I have the common decency to realize that killing innocents is wrong. At least I don't feel the need to be accepted and worshiped by mental killers who would turn on me a the drop of a hat!" She practically spat in his face. "I'd rather have no family on my terms, knowing that I have a shred of humanity left in my soul than stay in that God-forsaken house for one more bloody second than I did."
There was practically steam coming from her ears at this point. "At least I know that my mother loved me for who I was and not the horrible monster yours wanted you to become." With that said she stood up from her stool and made an attempt to flee the pub.
