There was something Remus wanted to clear up and it wasn't that he was annoyed with Tonks' inquisitiveness. Rather, truth be told, he rather liked that side of her. It showed that she, unlike the vast majority of the students, actually had an interest in the subject. However, it was turning into a disruption.
The only way Remus could get her to be quiet was to assign her detentions. It was a vain attempt to curb the chattiness but, if she played her cards right, would give her the chance to ask the rest of the questions in private. Remus wasn't quite sure if Tonks had come to that realisation yet or not.
"Evening," Remus said absently, moving the spoon in his teacup with a wave of his wrist and not bothering to look up from the stack of essays he was grading. "Brilliant, yes," he muttered, drawing a line through an erroneous fact. Muttering to himself as he continued reading, Remus finally looked up when he was done, surprised to see Tonks sitting there. Then again, it was time for her detention. "I actually didn't hear you come in," he said sheepishly. "Did I say anything?"
