It was not Frank's fault that he was a hard sleeper, which he'd been reprimanded for once or twice by his wife. Mostly because he always failed to wake up when Neville had a nightmare. This night was no exception. The only difference was that Alice was not there to wake up and comfort him. So when Neville crawled into his bed, Frank didn't wake up at first. Then when his son spoke, he opened his eyes slowly, spotting Neville not very far away from him.
Frank sat up slowly and rubbed his eyes to focus his vision before speaking. "What was it about tonight, Neville?" he asked sympathetically. This happened at least once a week. While it tended to deprive him of sleep occasionally, Frank had no problem consoling his son when he had nightmares.
