"You might not have a choice, Mum," said Dora with a frown, though she wasn't fond of thinking about her own mortality. It was a crummy way to die, all things considered, getting offed by one's own aunt in such a stupid way. "Yeah," she mumbled on the topic of her father. "Hopefully Sirius is keeping him in line." At the thought of Sirius, she pressed her lips together. Was he still angry with her? He probably was, wasn't he? Most likely thought this was all her fault that her mum was gone. She deserved it, but her mum hadn't done anything wrong. "Remus, too," she mumbled softly, though it wasn't clear if she meant she hoped Remus was helping to keep her father in line, or if Sirius was helping to keep Remus in line as well.
Dora shook her head, a bit surprised by her mother's curse. "No, I was the one who provoked her. I told her to come and get me, and she did, and I was the one who said we'd be shopping on Saturday, and--" Her eyes snapped over to her mother when she mentioned that. "No, I'm not going anywhere unless you're with me, I mean it. And I'm more valuable than you anyhow. I'm still in school, and having me here means she has more of a chance of getting whatever she wants, if she isn't just going to torture and kill us. But I'm not leaving without you, Mum, I mean it. You can't make me, either."
