In which Sirius travels Who: Sirius Black Where: Northern Ireland When: What: Sirius travels to Ireland. Rating: G
Sirius enjoyed the ferry ride as it rocked across the water. His bike was safely stowed and, though he hadn't a clue where he was planning on going, he was just glad to get out of England for a bit. The constant stream of owls and messages from Remus and Dora annoyed him. He wanted time and didn't think it was asking all that much for them to give it to him.
Dora, especially, with the way that she said she didn't blame him for a thing in one breath and then, the very next, was tossing shite insults at him, impugning his honour and love for his family. He'd got enough of that from his mother for too many years. He'd rather not get it from a girl he'd helped raise.
Then there was the tricky waters of this thing with Fabian. Hell if he knew what they were or where they were going or even if he wanted to go along with it. No, scratch that, he did want to go along with it as the sex had been rather mindblowing so far. There was an ease in their friendship, a lack of history that made it much easier to talk to him than to Remus, especially what with the whole Dora situation now. It had started out as a lark, really, taunting the straight guy but then, oh but then, Fabian had looked at him and Sirius had known that Fabian wasn't nearly as straight as he'd professed for all those years.
But it was the combination of friendship and sex that was making Sirius nervous now. The way they'd woken up together had scared Sirius enough to contemplate running for a bit. Rather, it was the way he'd felt when they'd woken up together that had scared him. The way he'd thought, this is just about right that had scared him.
Then there was that sendoff with the hypotheticals and the way that Sirius had warmed at the idea of Fabian missing him even for a bit. The request for status reports had warmed him even more. He'd felt himself go soft for just an instant and that scared him more than the way they'd woken up together after that night of drinking.
He wasn't James, ready to commit and live happily ever after with kids. Hell, the Black Family Madness wasn't a curse he'd ever pass on to a child. Far as he was concerned, the Most Noble and Ancient House of Black deserved to have its line die out. The way his mother would react to the Tapestry withering and dying made him grin as he lit up a fag. Which only sent his thoughts back to Fabian and the mess he was in there and with Dora and Remus. This trip was meant to get his head on straight and he wouldn't do that if he just fixated.
The bell rang, announcing a landing. Sirius meandered down to where his bike was stored and waited for the slight bump of landing before letting all the autos off first. He followed along the long line of vehicles exiting and then was on the road. It took a bit before he could really gas the engine but once he was away from people, he let his girl have her wind and raced down the road. The modifications he'd made added horsepower that meant that he could fly even better but for now, considering it was daytime and he was in the middle of Muggle country, he would stay tethered to the ground.
He didn't stop until he needed a tank of petrol. As he filled up, he grabbed his journal and sketched a quick entry to let Fabian, Lily and James know that he was there and living.
