Andromeda Tonks: disappointing mothers since 1971 (dromatic) wrote in rebel_rebel,
She sat stood still for a very long time, trying to process all of this. It didn't make any sense on the surface to her, why Carrow had targeted her daughter like that. Andromeda closed the journal and handed it back to her.
"He won't disown you, Nymphadora." Andromeda couldn't help but feel like she wasn't getting the whole story, but she wasn't going to pry. If Nymphadora wanted to talk to her, she would. It hurt a little, but Merlin knew she never told her mother a fraction of what was going on in her life. Still, she liked to think she was a better mum than what she'd been given. Nonetheless, Nymphadora was a Daddy's girl. She'd probably go to Ted first, if she did ever want to talk about this. "Sirius loves you so much. I don't know why he's being such a stubborn git, except for the very reason that he is a stubborn git."
She listened to her talk about this Aidan bloke, and hoped it was true. She hoped he could make her happy during this time when she was so obviously depressed. Andromeda nodded, though that wasn't what she'd meant at all. She wanted to know why all of these adult men were blowing up over her daughter.
"I'm sorry, Nymphadora," she said, after a long moment of silence between them. "I'm sorry that Carrow jumped on the chance to attack you like that. I feel responsible. I know, I had no part in it directly. But I highly doubt Carrow would've given you the time of day if you weren't my daughter. So.. I'm sorry, sweetheart. I'm sorry that you're dealing with the aftermath of my choices."
