Amycus ran his hands through his hair, practically breathing fire. "Sorry's not going to bring her back to life," he snapped, shooting a disgusted look at the carpet.
Caught between his little sister and the bundle that was about to start dripping and leaving traces of blood behind, Amycus gritted his teeth. "I'm going to bury the body," he said, a few notches calmer than he was before - until he realised that he couldn't. "Dammit. Wheezy, get out here!"
Their house elf appeared with a loud crack. Amycus gestured to the rug. "Leave the country and bury it where no one will find it. Tell no one, and come back immediately."
The elf scraped and bowed, quivering with fear before it and the rug disappeared.
"There," said Amycus with a sigh. After a long moment, he crouched down beside Alecto. "Now tell me why you did that."
