It was a good thing Steve hadn't taken another bite of his doughnut, he probably would have found himself choking on it at her words. He wasn't exactly an expert on flirting and he especially wasn't an expert on being flirted with. Usually, women looked right over him, but, of course, that was before his transformation. Sometimes women did give him a second glance, but he hardly felt that to be flirting.
"What was that for?" He couldn't help but ask. After all, if anything he was being awkward with her right now and in this distraction, he had forgotten all about giving her the assistance she might need to survive here. Not that he was overly worried. Faith seemed pretty capable of taking care of herself, but he couldn't help himself when it came to a person in need. Especially when they refused to think they were in need.
When she explained she was only ribbing him a little, he seemed to be embarrassed he thought she meant what she was saying, "Oh. Well in that case, forget everything I just said." Otherwise he would sound like a babbling fool, wouldn't he?
