"I hear that," she replied with an almost sympathizing look. Faith raised her half-eaten doughnut as if to toast the statement. She certainly knew the feeling of trying not to think to hard. It's why she constantly kept herself busy with whatever trouble or action she could find. Doing something kept her occupied. It kept her from going back to that dark place in her mind where her self-loathing and guilt really sunk its claws into her. That's all she did during prison especially the couple of times she ended up in solitary. Faith was sure she might have gone mad in there had it not been for the occasional visits Angel made. Even then, those started to dwindle off after awhile.
His question about where she had a place to stay piqued her interest. The sympathizing look was gone, and she smirked at him. She knew that he was too good of a guy to take advantage of her, but it was a lot of fun trying to making him uncomfortable. He mentioned the Manor she heard about out on the street, but she hadn't been too keen on the idea. Faith hated charity, and she hated owing people. It was more than enough that she owed him a twenty. Her plan was to hustle some money playing pool and get herself a cheap motel room. "Would I get to stay with you, boy scout?" she teased him coyly, nudging him lightly with her knee.
