"I got here first. It's been what, almost three weeks?" Raven played off the time with a small shrug, very relieved that Hank seemed to be taking the transition from Mansion to Delaware very well. Far better than her, in fact, who had thrown herself rather desperately into any activity that could hold her attention for more than a couple of minutes. "Charles didn't take long after me. It's confusing though. Sean arrived long before Alex but they both remember the same events. They both got here after we all get to Cuba, apparently. Erik doesn't. I still don't get it."
She laughed and rubbed her hands together lightly. Her jacket was doing well to keep the section of her torso, arms and upper thighs that it actually covered warm, but it didn't mean that her hands weren't slowly losing feeling in the winter cold. The laugh continued exactly until Hank's shout of 'the cure', at which point it immediately died down into a tight lipped, forced smile.
"You brought it with you?" she asked, and Raven's heart sank horribly as she realized just what this meant. It meant that Hank still wanted to use it, hadn't used it yet and she was only just managing to scrape back her self-esteem. Another one of those arguments was the last thing that she wanted right then. The things that Hank had said that night hurt, hitting her right in her weakest spot. Even after her very helpful conversation with Charles, and the comments that came almost every time she ran into Erik, she was still struggling to get herself into the place where she felt even semi-okay with her natural appearance. And now Hank was back (which was great) and his cure came with him (which really was not).
"Don't worry, no one saw," Raven said, the sadness evident in her voice as her gaze dropped to the floor, and she could barely mask the bitterness in her words as she continued, "You're still fitting right in."
