"All right. If that's what you want." Seth stood up easily, unfazed by her outburst, and took a miniscule packet of plastic-wrapped tissues out of his pocket to place where he had been sitting. "You don't need to be emotional. Don't expect me to look after you again."
With that, he walked away, evidently towards the house. It didn't cost him anything to concede this argument, after all.
If Kitty didn't interfere with him further, however, Seth had every intention of going into the house, coming out the front, walking around while staying hidden, and still watching Kitty. He was good at being stealthy when he wanted to be, even without Jonah's help, and he did know that if anything happened to Kitty the blame could easily fall on him. He'd learned that from Lampkin. And he wanted to see her keep crying.
