"Don't!" Kitty practically shouted, clapping a hand over her mouth as soon as the word had escaped. The last thing Kitty wanted was for Seth to talk to Sean. Not now, not after all of this. She breathed in sharply as Seth drew closer and her eyes closed for just a second as she tried to gather up so much as a shred of the stubbornness and determination she had managed to walk into this with. Apparently it had left right around the same time Seth had started her spiral of second guessing.
"Don't ask him. Please. It's not- this hasn't got anything to do with him," she tried again, doubtful it would have any more effect than her earlier request but wiling to try all the same. It had been so long since she had felt anything for someone, even longer since they had returned the feelings. The last thing she wanted was for it to be over before it had ever really started, not when things seemed to be going so well.
"You don't know. Things can change. I can change," Kitty said, words harsh but tone of voice definitely lacking. She was trying so hard to get back that hardened demeanor she had dropped all too quickly. It clearly wasn't working. She breathed out slowly, a little more forceful than she would have liked, and tried to slip in a discrete step backwards as she spoke in a soft, almost pleading voice. "Don't ask him."
