The two steps forward was once again echoed by Kitty's two steps back, and she had never wished more for just a couple of inches to be added to her height. Seth was small for a boy his age, yes, but Kitty was smaller. She glanced behind her quickly to make sure nothing was coming up behind her - God, if she fell now, she would probably have a heart attack - and met his eyes again.
"I couldn't have danced again. Everyone knew it," she sounded angry, her words fit the bill, but there was a hint of doubt behind it that she couldn't quite mask, "We all..we all knew I couldn't start again, it had been too long."
