Kitty's hardened, unimpressed expression dropped immediately as Seth began to speak. She could put things like his knowledge of her nickname down to simply being observant, sure, but the thing that he was saying now were intimate, things she had barely told people she had known for years let alone anyone here. There was no other way that Seth could have found these things out.
"I don't pretend the world is going to be a nicer place," she all but spat out eventually, taking a step backwards to match Seth's one forward, "Hope isn't the same as pretending." She didn't exactly know what else she could say - she hadn't tried to make things better, he was right. She had gone to Xavier's school in the hopes that the school would change the world. Finally she let out a slow breath and raised her eyes to meet his again.
"We changed it to Pryde to get away from the past. Not because it was 'too Jewish'," she muttered finally, a half hearted effort as she eyed Seth carefully. He'd had a look in, showed off a little, and gotten a reaction. What more could he want?
