Kitty wasn't exactly sure what she was expecting when she came down the stairs and walked into the kitchen. In amongst a lot of well wishes such as 'you're going to fit right in here' and 'don't worry' and even a little bit of 'you're really very interesting, Katherine' which she hadn't appreciated as much as the rest, she had managed to gather that she was invited to some kind of breakfast meeting from none other than Charles Xavier himself.
Not that it was her Charles, she noted, and as she walked into the kitchen she offered him a shy kind of wave and very carefully trained her mind only on what was happening at that very moment in time. She doubted that Charles would just read her mind on a whim, but just in case he did, there was no way he would find out the knowledge she had of his future that way. It would just be cruel.
Still, as Kitty walked in and watched people greeting each other with such familiarity she felt a horrible pang of homesickness, and just looked over to the only other person who seemed as out of place as she was.
"Do you know what we're supposed to be doing here?" she asked the brightly dressed -- and clearly tired -- girl in a soft whisper, leaning in a little to make sure that she was heard. She did spot Sean, and lowered her eyes as a small smile appeared on her face. She wouldn't make a big deal or anything, but she couldn't deny that she was glad to see him.
