"Well, there's those turtle neck for starters," Raven said, and though the corners of her mouth tugged into a smirk, her hesitant words were enough to suggest that maybe she didn't think she could get away with jokes just yet. Still, she couldn't exactly tip toe around Erik forever, and she had no intentions of doing so if she was honest, so she said it all the same.
With a small shrug, she continue to eat. More than happy to use her food as the cover that Erik hadn't while her thoughts raced around her head, she pushed pieces of vegetable around her plate and kept her eyes firmly on the food in front of her. She wasn't good at reconciliations. Until very recently she had indulged in exactly one friend, Charles, and they had never required anything like this before. Sure there had been small tiffs here and there, but Raven had never deliberately tried to have information withheld from Charles before. It was new ground for her and she wasn't entirely sure that she was doing it right.
"I kill people." she said finally, still just as hesitant as before, but with nothing even remotely close to an amused look on her face any more, "In Laura Kinney's world. I never met Charles, and I kill people. I haven't told anyone else, and I'd really like it if you didn't either."
Raven just continued to stare down at the mostly empty plate, pushing things around with her fork endlessly as she spoke. When she went silent again, she laughed softly and shook her head. "I didn't want to know that. You might not feel the guilt but I do. I can't get away from it. It hurts, Erik. This is why I didn't want you to know."
