The laughter, if nothing else, was good enough reason for Sean to be beaming, or so he would be telling himself, thanks. Obviously no one else was going to be asking but the fact still stood. He would take his little victories where he could get them, seeing as he was pretty sure he'd used up his bigger victories quota for the next few months with getting Erik to seem impressed by the whole sonar thing.
"First off," he noted, cheerfully, "I actually really liked chemistry because I had a teacher who totally let us blow things up. Highlight of my extremely short-lived, scientific career." The words 'blow things up' were, for Kitty's benefit, accompanied by an explosive motion made with his free hand. "Second, I could probably come up with a lot worse than Robo-Charles but I like you so I'll spare you." That said, he dropped around and back into step beside her, adding, "For now. I can't really make promises that encompass 'forever,' especially if it involves not making a total fool out of myself." At least he was honest!
In all seriousness, though, his grin dimmed down to a smile again as they walked and he, ever so daringly, voiced a small prediction in the form of, "You know, it's not your school or anything but-- I think you'll like it here." Maybe 'think' would have been more accurately phrased as 'hope' but never mind.
