"Oh, I'm sure you're useful for much more than showing strangers to places where food is kept," Kitty assured him, tapping her fingers in an absent minded rhythm on the side of her books. The fidgeting was a fairly obvious sign to anyone who knew Kitty that she was a little nervous in the current situation - though in all fairness to her, her last conversation with someone outside of the school had been with her parents and that was four years ago.
"So you did go there?" Kitty smiled, a little relieved. He would probably understand her awkwardness a little more then. She still couldn't work out if he went in the same sense as her, that is as a mutant of course, and just hugged the books tighter as she spoke again. "Yeah, I think it's more...traditional school roles now. We do proper subjects and everything now, though that's only been the last few years."
She gave a tiny, hunch-shouldered shrug and a soft wave of laughter, still walking along next to Sean, and it took a deep breath and a lot of talking herself into it before she finally continued to speak, and when she did her voice was quiet and hesitant, almost letting a stutter slip in with her words. "Are you...can you..." her mouth shut again. God she was bad at this. Another deep breath, and then she tried again, this time almost whispering.
