"Oh, you'll see." To what, exactly, that statement referred was fairly open. Mutation, microwave - either way, it was true. It really wouldn't be fair to have her go all out showing him what she could do and then Sean just talk about his own talents. As for the food, well, he was already getting a bowl for it (after opening the wrong cabinet the first time).
Once he actually had the requisite dish, he motioned for her to follow him and watch. "See, there are instruction on the package for these but usually they want you to boil water first or something, which is stupid." With that said, Sean went on to fix the meal in question his own way, explaining how everything worked in a way that was both careful and maybe a little more excited than absolutely necessary. To be fair, he didn't usually get to do things like this. Explaining how things worked, that is. He'd always been a decent student, worked hard, had his own niches where he maybe had a bit of raw talent that put him ahead of the game, but mostly he'd always just been average. Not just average, even. Average and in the middle of the pack. The only people he had ever had room or reason to teach anything had been his younger cousins and, more often than that, his grandparents. Unfortunately, the latter had been a rather redundant venture. Mostly he spent a lot of time reteaching Grandpa how to use the television.
After a few minutes, noodles prepared and the art of the microwave hopefully well taught, he grabbed a fork from the silverware drawer and offered it with a sheepish grin. "So, yeah. The wonders of the 21st century, right? Anyway, now you know how to use it, you can pretty much make anything that way. I mean, really, anything. There are recipes for things like microwave cake, even. Haven't actually tried that one yet, myself." He paused there, not sure what to say next, but eventually ended up fidgeting with his hair, corner of his lower lip between his teeth.
"Uh. Hey, listen. If you want, you can just sit and eat that. I'm gonna go check on something real quick, then I'll be back." By which he primarily meant that he needed to hide his weed in his room but, well, even Sean was smart enough to figure that maybe his first conversation with a girl wasn't really the appropriate time to mention such things. Besides, he could have other reasons, such as, "Um. It's probably getting colder and we have to go outside if I'm going to..." He trailed off, fidgeting a bit more before he hitched his thumb back toward the hall. "Well, you know, I mean, I've got a coat up in my room, if you want to borrow it."
