Raven huffed slightly at Charles' comment about not being stupid, but other than that just nodded with a slightly wry look on her face. Her cheeks were still pink, she could feel it, and she was willing it away desperately. She could, theoretically at least, probably fix that but she didn't have the concentration for that just then. Not during this kind of conversation.
"You don't need to be concerned, it's not like-" She shrugged, looking at Charles as if trying to will him into understanding the mess of thoughts in her head at the moment. On one hand, she had the kind of self-confidence that she had never experienced before. She was enjoying her power, she was exploring it and testing her limits and it felt fantastic. On the other hand though, she was still just a teenage girl who - while it couldn't be called heartbreak, certainly not - had had a little hole torn in her in the form of a few choice words and an already struggling self-image issue. There were so many conflicting thoughts and ideas running through her: be proud of who you are, hide, you deserve to be happy, you can't be yourself.
It was enough to make a person scream, if they dwelled on it for too long. It was one of the few times she actually tried to push her thoughts onto Charles, tried to give him the insight that she could never put into words for him. After a moment, she just sighed andleant into his hand a little as Charles tucked her hair back.
"I know, it's not...I don't make a regular habit of uh, flinging myself at people." Raven said, hesitating slightly as she spoke and damnit, the blush was creeping back again. She closed her eyes and just breathed out in a small huff, looking at Charles and raising an eyebrow. "Past you're not telling me about, hm Charles?" She poked him lightly on the shoulder, going in for the subject change hard and fast. "Spill, then. Who was it?"
