It seemed like days since Raven had been at the mansion, talking to Hank. She hadn't imagined how quickly she could miss the place she had called home for so long. There was a small, distracted part of her that was curious as to how long she had been gone before Charles had arrived here too. She wondered whether anyone had noticed their -- no, her -- disappearence. She knew that Charles would be missed. Their illustrious leader, people would realise almost immediately. While she hoped that no one thought they had just abandoned ship, a small part of her couldn't help but hope that at least someone was worried about her.
The knock on the door drew Raven out of her embarrassingly self-pitying thougts, and she prayed that Charles hadn't heard. While he had promised never to use his powers on her, Raven also knew that sometimes he didn't need to actively listen. Sometimes he just heard, and she wouldn't have been surprised to learn that she had been thinking quite loudly. Still, she walked away from the window quickly, picking up one of the cupcakes as she made a direct line for the door to her room.
"For you," Raven said with a smile as she opened the door for Charles, barely waiting before moving in for a tight hug. It had been mere hours since she had seen Charles, but it felt like days, and she had truly missed him.
