Charles wasted no time in going to find Raven, but on foot there was only so fast he could go in order to reach her. He stayed in touch with the familiar patterning of her mind the entire way, walking purposefully towards his destination with what he hoped was the air of a man who knew what he was doing. He tried not to stare at the many novelties of 2012 on the way, but it was almost impossible not to. Most things were recognizable, but he soaked up the differences with absolute fascination. By the time he reached the place Raven was staying he was thoroughly dazzled, and that contributed to the wideness of his grin as he greet the proprietor at the door and introduced himself as Raven's brother. He did know which room Raven was in, so he hurried to that one, knocking firmly on the door.
He hadn't given himself time to be really afraid, with all of the things that had to come first, but now on the cusp of being reunited with Raven he let himself feel that fear--the fear of losing her, of being apart with no sure way of getting back together. Raven had been his family when no one else could, and losing her would be like losing a limb. He could compensate, over time, but it'd never be quite the same.
