Who: Jeremy Gilbert & Open What: Arriving in style... or crashing a car into a cemetery. When: Thursday afternoon Where: Resurrection Cemetery Rating: PG-13
Jeremy watched Alaric as he finished putting his bags into the trunk. Elena was leaning into the window explaining to him how she'd call him every night, and he shouldn't be worried to call her if anything happens. But Jeremy couldn't focus on that. All he could focus on was Damon's presence standing on the porch watching. Jeremy knew something with this hadn't seemed right, he just couldn't put his finger on it. He knew he had to leave, and he knew he didn't want to come back. But he didn't know why. This was his home. His sister was here. There shouldn't be anything to keep him away, but he still felt this way.
He gave Elena a smile as Alaric finally got into the car. He let his sister kiss his forehead before they were driving away from the house. Away from the only family he had left and the only life he had known. He leaned back on the seat and tilted his head to the side to watch as the town disappeared. As he closed his eyes, he felt tears fall down his cheeks, and still he couldn't figure out why.
He knew the ride shouldn't take long and he moved to sit up when he noticed something wasn't right. He turned his head and blinked several times, trying to register what he was seeing. Alaric, who had been driving just a moment before, was gone! He was in a car, that was still moving, and there wasn't a driver! As quickly as he could, Jeremy got out of the passengers seat, climbed into the driver's seat and tried to get the car under some kind of control. But it was a bit too late, as he could only break before the car hit the wrought iron gate of a cemetery.
"Son of a bitch!" Jeremy growled out as he rubbed at his forehead, which had just smashed into the stirring wheel, to make the experience all the better. He climbed out of the car, looking around at the unfamiliar landscape. Turning his head to the gate he ran a hand through his hair and just stared. Leave it to a Gilbert to crash into a cemetery of all places.
