NO EXCUSES
Elena had just managed to quash the paranoia well and truly and was taking very purposeful strides towards the gatehouse. She wasn't being watched, or followed. She was fine, this place was normal. She was doing a very good job of convincing herself that nothing was wrong, actually, and she started to relax as she got closer to the gatehouse.
Then she heard the unmistakeable sound of a vampire.
Her hand dove straight back into her bag, but didn't pull the stake out just yet. She had her necklace on, that was something at least, and she had been drinking vervain steadily enough that she knew there was some in her system. She looked back behind her again to check that there was noone there just yet, then turned to see-
Anna. Anna, was here. What was Anna doing here, of all places? She opened and closed her mouth very rapidly, mind whirring as she tried to think of something to say other than "oh god oh god oh god".
"Needed a change of scenery," Elena said finally, a little coolly as she gripped the stake in her bag tightly. She didn't have a problem with Anna, per say the obvious problems of trying to turn her brother into a vampire aside, but she wasn't going to pretend she wasn't scared seeing another vampire here. "Long way from the grave. Hell push you out?"
